Batches & DPP Requests
What is a batch?
A batch is a specific production run of a product at a factory — e.g., 500 units of “Classic Crew T-Shirt” produced at Guangzhou Garment Co. in April 2026.
Each batch can have one DPP (Digital Product Passport) published for it.
Batch status labels
| Status | Label shown | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
draft | Awaiting request | Batch created, no request sent yet |
sent | Requested | DPP request sent to factory |
submitted | Pending review | Factory submitted data, awaiting brand review |
published | Live | DPP published with QR code and consumer page |
changes_requested | Changes requested | Brand asked factory to revise data |
Creating a batch
- Go to a product detail page and click Create batch, or go to Batches > New batch
- Select the product and Tier 1 supplier (from your connected suppliers)
- Enter PO reference and quantity
- Click Create batch
Sending a DPP request
Once the batch is created, click Send request on the batch detail page. You can add optional notes for the factory.
This sends an email to the Tier 1 factory. If the product’s materials reference Tier 2/3 suppliers, each sub-supplier automatically receives their own request for their portion of the data. This multi-tier cascade ensures the full supply chain is covered.
Tracking requests
The batch detail page shows all requests in a visual tree:
- Tier 1 — main factory (top level)
- Tier 2/3 — sub-suppliers (indented below, connected by a visual tree line)
Each request shows: sent date, submitted date, due date, and current status.
Reviewing submitted data
When the factory submits, you see:
- Factory-submitted data — all production fields in a clean key-value layout
- PEFCR environmental score — kgCO2e per unit and total, with breakdown by lifecycle stage
- Comparison to category average — percentage better or worse than the 8.1 kgCO2e baseline
- Data quality badges — primary (real data) vs secondary (industry average)
Publishing a DPP
Once you’re satisfied with the data:
- Click Approve & Publish DPP
- The system generates a JSON-LD record, branded QR code, and consumer page
- You can download the QR code (SVG) and preview the consumer page
See DPPs & QR Codes for details on QR code downloads and consumer pages.
Requesting changes
If something looks wrong, enter your feedback in the text field and click Request changes. The factory receives a notification and the request status returns to “in progress”.
Sustainability reports
For published batches, click Report in the batch header to open a print-optimized sustainability report. The report includes:
- Batch details (factory, facility, PO, quantity)
- Materials composition with visual bar
- PEFCR environmental score with lifecycle breakdown
- Data quality badges
- Factory-submitted production data
- Consumer page QR link
Click Save as PDF in the bottom-right corner, or use your browser’s print function (Ctrl/Cmd+P) to save.
Supply chain certificates
On the batch detail page, the Certificates section shows all certificates from the supply chain:
- Tier 1 factory certificates (GOTS, ISO 14001, etc.)
- Tier 2/3 supplier certificates — fabric mills, dye houses, yarn spinners
Each certificate shows the issuing body, expiry date, and a link to the uploaded document. This gives you full visibility into the compliance status of every supplier involved in the batch.
Customs QR
Click Customs QR on any batch detail page to generate a QR code that links to a summary page containing:
- Batch details (product, factory, PO, quantity)
- All attached shipping documents (bill of lading, packing list, customs declaration)
- Supply chain certificates
- DPP consumer page link (if published)
Share this QR with freight forwarders or customs officials. No Pasera login required to view.
Shipment management
From the batch detail page, click Request shipment to initiate a shipment for this batch. This creates a draft shipment entry visible to both you and the factory. See Shipments for the full shipment workflow.
Overdue reminders
If a factory hasn’t submitted data past the due date, Pasera automatically sends a reminder email to the factory contact every 7 days. You’ll also see overdue requests flagged in the factory’s inbox with a red date indicator.
