Agent Guide
An agent runs Pasera on behalf of other companies. If you are a sourcing office, a buying agent, or a factory group that manages compliance for the brands and factories you work with, this guide is for you.
What an agent is
An agent is its own organization that manages a network of other organizations. You operate from a single login and see everything across that network, without each client needing to log in themselves (until you choose to hand an account over).
There are two focuses, set when your agent organization is created:
- Brand agent — you manage a roster of client brands (“customers”). You create products, batches, and Digital Product Passports on their behalf, and coordinate their factories.
- Factory agent — you manage a roster of factories. You handle the incoming data requests and proposals for those factories from one inbox.
Either way, the people you manage stay free: factories never pay, and your client brands sit on the free tier unless they upgrade.
How the network works
Every brand or factory you create is managed by your agent organization. That gives you two ways to work:
- Across the network. Your agent home aggregates products, batches, shipments, warehouse stock, and live passports across all your managed clients, so you can see the whole book of work at once.
- As a specific client. Use the customer switcher in the top bar to open one client’s portal and act as them (create a batch, send a request, publish a passport). When you are done, exit back to your network home. See Customers.
The agent’s place in the flow
- A factory can propose an order to you. You accept it and assign it to a client brand, and it becomes a batch. See Proposals.
- You can act as any client brand to run the normal define → request → review → publish flow. See How It Works.
- As a factory agent, incoming production requests for your factories land in one inbox. See Production Requests.
Next steps
- Getting Started — set up your network and add your first client.
- Customers — manage client brands and switch in to act as them.
- Proposals — turn a factory’s proposed order into a client batch.
